US Patriot Sailing is sponsoring the in-person 1-day US Sailing / World Sailing Offshore Safety @ Sea training course on Sept 26th from 0800-1800 - with social following. The course will be held rain or shine at Spring Cove Marina, Solomons MD.
WHAT: Safety & Sea covers damage control, flare, emergency radio calls, emergency equipment preparation and usage, in-water life-raft and personal flotation operations, fire fighting, storm sails and more.
WHO: This course is a prerequisite for participation in OFFSHORE Racing, and high-recommend for all sailors and boaters navigating open waters. Recommend for all US PATRIOT SAILING Teammates whether brand new or a seasoned mariner. Cruiser and power boaters welcome!
Details:
1. This course is open to ALL Veterans and Active Duty are free of charge. Military Veteran spouses and immediate family over the age of 18 are welcome to register for this course with their Veteran sponsor at no cost additional cost.
2. Non-Veterans may participate for a fee of $300 (not-including prerequisites)
3. Participants must have a current (or expired within 12 months of expiration) US SAILING Safety@SeaCertificate - OR - MUST complete the US Sailing Safety @ Sea online training units 1 through 15 must be completed PRIOR TO ATTENDANCE, THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS.
